I’ve come to realize that there’s always a higher benchmark one can set for anything - be it skills, looks or anything in general. Theres always someone better than you and this race is never ending. The finish line is far beyond ones imagination and before reaching that finish line, you’ll live your life in utter dissatisfaction and end up unhappy eventually.
The person who accepts their flaws or the one who compares themselves with their past will only die happy knowing that they have made good progress. Sure the journey of improvement is never ending and those who are happy aren’t any close to that finish line either but atleast they enjoyed the journey which is what matters.
Even the most finest man that you compare yourself with on the social media is chasing someone else’s standards of beauty or skill. Who knows they’re more depressed than you are, constantly chased by the expectation of people.
The only things you can focus on are the things that are under your control. You cannot change the way your bones are shaped so why bother? but you can change those dark circles you got by stressing yourself with your flaws so much that it ruined your sleep quality. So work on the things you can actually change rather than putting yourself under the truck of having mad facial harmony.
It’s not only about looks, but this applies to skills as well, and to almost everything else in life. You were never meant to be perfect, you were just meant to be the best version of yourself.
